Theme based web site grabs the traffic

Want more traffic at your web site? Build your site around a theme. If your web site consists of multiple themes, then split it up!

Here's what happened with my web site.

When I started, I had a single web site with many themes. Covering everything a woman may be interested in.

When it came down to submitting my site to a directory, I had a problem figuring out which section to put it in. Putting it into 1 section meant only one of the themes would be where potential visitors may find it.

Also, my site ranked really poorly in search engines.

Ok. So I messed it up that time. My visits were less than 100 per week. Compared to 12,000 weekly now.

The difference? I split my site into many little folders. You call them subwebs in front page, or themes in site build it. (Actually, site build it is an easier and more theme friendly tool to use)

Each theme had its own interlinked set of pages. Health had its own little web site, beauty had another web site, fashion yet another web site and so forth. Each little web site had its own main page which linked it to the rest of the related articles.

Next, I submitted each main page to the search engines and directories. This time, the main pages ranked highly in directories and search engines. Without any adverising whatsoever. OK. I also used the advice found in MYSS, from the same merchant which sells site build it. The changes I made following their advice doubled my traffic.

Now I get about 12,000 visits each week.

I did mine manually though. But all that is done a lot more easily, with fewer ulcers, wrinkles and gray hairs if you use site build it.

Have a separate web site for each theme. That's where the traffic is.
