Find your niche on the webIf you are a small business, or a one-man or one-woman show, you can't expect to compete with the likes of Amazon.com. The big players would go for larger demographics. They have the resources. They have the marketing budget and all. How could you ever hope to compete? Actually, you can compete. You just have to be more focused FocusFirst, don't try selling to everyone. Try selling to everyone, and you will end up selling to no one. Find your target audience. Who do you think you can relate to? The single mothers? The teenaged boys? The harried executive? Find their needs. What do they want? What are their needs? What triggers them to buy a product or service? PlanNow that you know who you are targeting, what are you selling? How do you plan to make money from your web site? What image do you want your company (or web site) to portray? What image would appeal to your target audience? From there, you should be able to decide the name of your company, the website URL and look and feel of your intended site. Pick a name that is catchy and easy to remember. Directories that you should list in are dmoz.org, yahoo.com and looksmart.com Write press releases and advertise to make your web business known.
