Animatrix is a collection of short stories that give you clues to the secrets hidden within the Matrix.

These happen between the first Matrix movie and Matrix Reloaded.

Done by the top Manga artists in the world, Animatrix is a must see for all science fiction fans and those who enjoyed the Matrix movies.

The first story tells how war between machines and humans started, how the world ended up in the dismal state you see in the Matrix and how human beings ended up as human batteries.

The last story tells of how one ship of human beings discovered the machines tunnelling in to attack Zion.

There were also many thought provoking stories set in the Matrix. All animations or cartoons yet very touching.

There is one of a kid who realizes that dreams are more real than the "real world", who contacted Neo and was pursued by the agents. That animation looked a lot like the kid who was a big "fan" of Neo in Matrix Reloaded, who kept thanking Neo for saving him. Neo's constant reply was that he saved himself.

There was another about another anomaly within the matrix, except that he had not escaped the Matrix. Each time he broke free, the agents yanked him back.

To fully appreciate The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded, you should watch animatrix.
