My mom taught me to read by the time I was 3. All through phonics.
My older kid could only read when he was 4 or 5.
My younger kid can't read yet.
It isn't that easy teaching your kids to read. Not unless you have
guidance.
As a kid, I watched Sesame Street a lot. The way they made phonics fun helped
instill a love for reading in me.
Sesame Street alone is not enough. You need proper guidance in teaching your
kid to read.
Dr. Seuss is another favourite. I remember my mom teaching me to read with Dr. Seuss books. Decades later, as a mom myself, I bought Dr Seuss books for my kids to read.
