Finding Nemo is about a father fish searching for his lost son. Sounds
boring. How can you relate to fish. But when Disney does its magic, they can
make clown fish become the latest celebrities.
Finding Nemo Synopsis
Marlene and his wife are in their new home. They have settled
their babies (new eggs) below the anemone where they are going to live. They
have a beautiful view of the big blue ocean from their home.
A
shark appears. Marlene is knocked out in that fight. His wife tries to fend for
their babies (eggs). When Marlene awakes, his wife and babies were all eaten up.
All except 1 little egg. That baby, he named Nemo. The name his wife had
preferred.
The bond between father and son is close. Marlene is
the over-protective dad. Nemo has a deformed fin, so Marlene was overly
concerned with Nemo's swimming abilities. Small fin or not, Nemo is extremely
active and agile.
Nemo goes to school. Marlene tags along from
afar. Nemo is really embarassed about being so protected by his dad. Nemo and
his friends venture out on their own into the ocean. There is a boat up ahead.
Marlene sees them and tell Nemo to return as he can't swim that well. To prove
himself and as an act of defiance, Nemo swims up and touches the boat. He gets
caught by a diver and taken away.
From then on, Marlene embarks
on a search for Nemo. Along the way, he meets Dory who becomes his companion for
the rest of his journey.
Marlene and Dory encounter and
befriend sharks, sea turtles, a whale and many more creatures in their search
for Nemo. Their journey was a dangerous one. The field of jellyfish and that
angler fish were deadly obstacles they had to overcome in order to get to Nemo.
Nemo,
on the other hand was put in an aquarium. There you see various fish and sea
creatures with their idiosyncrasies.
Overall, Finding Nemo is a
heartwarming family movie. My kids loved it. I don't really like kiddy movies,
but didn't mind seeing that twice. I draw the line at thrice in a month though.
Here's the Finding Nemo DVD in case you missed it.
