Quarrelsome KidsDo you have kids?
Do they drive you up the wall?
I have 2 boys and they drive me nuts.
They fight, like, 10 times a day. Over anything and everything.
Usual scenario. Little one, disturbs older one. Older one blows up and hits
little one. Little one cries.
Or little one is playing. Big kid snatches toy away. Both fight over the toy.
Or they end up biting each other or an adult who tries to stop the fight.
I thought I my kids were exceptionally naughty. Maybe they are. Then again, how many kids behave like angels all the time?
One thing you could do is to discipline them fairly. Make the kids write down a punishment for each offense the other party commits. Check the list to ensure the punishment is fair. Put that list up and should any of these rules be broken, implement the punishment. Another way is to teach them the interpersonal skills they need to reduce these fights. Read this book and glean the necessary tips on handling your quarrelsome kids from it.
Help! the Kids Are at It Again by Elizabeth Crary, ISBN 1884734081 Describes the necessary tools for parents to teach "people" skills to their children, including dealing with feelings and solving problems
