Skin Type	Description
Home facials for oily skin	Oily skin is generally shiny and greasy looking. It is often prone to acne outbreaks. To control acne outbreaks, washing your face with either a mild soap that does not contain moisturisers and water 3 times a day helps. Alternatively, you could wash your face with a product that contains Triclosan 3 times a day. This would help control the bacteria that causes acne. Most pimple creams in the market these days contain Benzoyl Peroxide. Some people are allergic to it though. An alternative you could use is a product containing tea tree oil. A word of caution though. Tea tree oil can also cause skin irritation. Tea tree oil takes longer to clear the skin. It usually causes the pimple to ripen faster and so may appear to make the problem worse before it improves. Mint is an astringent that dissolves the excess oil. Products with mint in it can help control the excess oil in oily skin. Aloe Vera gel is great for oily skin. What is best for one individual may not work or may even irritate the skin on another person. You have to find something suitable for your own skin. Also, with any new products, it would be wise to do a patch test apply a little on the inside of your wrist first, wait 24 hours before applying it on your face.
Dry Skin	Dry skin could be oil dry or dehydrated. Dehydrated skin could be oily but lack moisture. Usually, dehydrated skin started off as oily skin that had been abused with harsh products. Such skin needs water but not additional oil. Drink lots of water and use water based moisturisers for dehydrated skin. Use gentle products formulated for dehydrated skin. Oil dry skin lacks oil. If you totally avoid all fats and oils in your diet, you could aggravate oil dry skin. Include some good oils like olive oil in your diet. Eat some walnuts. Use an oil based moisturiser to help keep moisture in. Use creams with vitamin E in them.
Natural Home facials for normal skin	Normal skin is perfectly balanced skin. It is neither oily nor dry. One with normal skin rarely bothers about skin type. Proper cleansing and light moisturisers should be sufficient for you.
Combination Skin	Skin that is oily in some areas and dry in other area. Usually oily on the forehead and nose and chin and dry or normal on the cheeks. Treat the oily areas as you would for oily skin and the dry areas as you would for dry skin. Or get products made specially for combination skin.

Dehydrated Skin	Dry skin that breaks out in pimples easily? You could have dehydrated skin. Oil glands are over active yet skin is parched. You need water and not oil.

Use your own discretion if trying out these facials. For safety sake, before trying any facial, please do a patch test. Apply a little on the inside of your wrist first, wait 24 hours before applying a freshly made batch on your face in a facial. If irritation occurs, stop immediately, wash off with lots of water and see a doctor immediately. If in doubt, do not try the facials. Lemon especially is a mild skin lightener. It is popular and has been used for beauty for centuries. It is also very acidic and can cause acid burns in some skins. Even cucumbers which are considered very mild and soothing have been known to cause acid burns in unfortunate individuals who scrubbed their sunburnt faces with it. Just because something is natural and from a plant does not mean it is totally safe. Different people are allergic to different things so be careful. Remember to sterilise all equipment used in the facials with boiling water. Use sterile cotton where cotton pads or cotton wool are indicated.
