    In one of the diets I tried, I could have 1 serving of baked Lays potato crisps as my afternoon snack. I joined this program. Lose 10 lbs. in 5 weeks with eDiets and followed the plan that was drawn up for me based on my weight, lifestyle and taste in food.

    I could not find baked Lays potato crisps, so I settled for the regular Lays, rather the sour cream and onions. 1 serving of that is 131 calories. Still quite ok.

    I happily munched through that bag of Lays potato crisps. Pleased with my find, I checked the packaging so I could tell you about this great find. Uh oh. It said that 1 serving was 131 calories. This bag contains about 3 servings. I had eaten almost 400 calories in a snack. Bang went my calorie count for that day. Ate as little as I could for dinner to make up for it.

    Lesson learnt: To stick to your diet plan, check the calories per serving AND the number of servings in a package BEFORE eating it.

    I could not lose much weight on that diet though as I relied solely on calorie count to shed the pounds. To actually lose weight, you need to exercise as well as watch what you eat.

    When you combine a great workout on alternate days with a sensible diet, you can see results.
