When I first found out I was pregnant, people began asking me I was going to breast or bottle feed. Even though the idea of breast feeding sounded strange (Due to the society that I grew up in where almost everyone was bottlefed), I knew that it would be the best thing for my baby so I told everyone I would breast feed. I also have a very supportive husband who was determined that I would breastfeed.

Still though, I did not know if I would be up to breastfeeding. However, I must say that it is one of the most satisfying things I have ever done. My baby is now 6 months old and I cherish the time we spend together, breastfeeding included. Breastfeeding has been so convenient and easy for my and my baby that I cannot imaging doing it any other way. I cannot understand why someone would choose not to breastfeed. There is so much work involved in bottle feeding, not to mention the cost. But I would have to say that the best thing about breastfeeding is that fact that I lost the weight I gained during pregnancy within six months (not bad, considering I had 40 pounds to lost). I will continue to breastfeed my baby as long as she wants it. I recommend breastfeeding to anyone. And, if it seems weird to you, do not worry--it is the most natural thing in the world.
