Skin care tried and tested on acne prone sensitive skinMy skin is acne prone and sensitive. Some products really clog my pores and give me a bad case of acne, others give me a pimply forehead. Yet some products meant for acne are too harsh for my skin. Burning sensation, red ness, excessive dryness results from using those. I've found some that work for my skin though. Here's a list of the successful combinations and the disastrous ones. Here are some acne treatments from reputable brands. SuccessesPayotMy skin loves this combination. My skin was really clear when I used this. It is kind of expensive though, but worth it. I'd recommend this combination for a mild pimple breakout.
StendhalStendhal Bio-Confort Plus Moisture Source Gel Tried and Tested I used that with a wash off cleanser that contained kaolin. It is the foaming wash off cleanser from Stendhal for oily skin. My skin loved this combination too. In fact, I did not want to try other skin care, but did switch anyway, as I could write about other products for this web site. ClarinsClarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser Clarin Normalizing Facial Mask tried and tested on acne prone sensitive skin I'm currently using this. It works for sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. It is mild though. Takes a while to clear up pimples. But it does not clog the pores. Good for maintenance. CliniqueAs a teenager, I used a bar of clinique soap (mild formula) Dramatically different moisturizing lotion works well
for my skin too. Ok, when the acne gets really bad, this would do the trick. That combination worked for my skin and kept acne at bay. That was excellent in my twenties, but as I approach 40, with concerns about the lines that are due to appear on my face, clinique products might be too harsh. The sickening thing is whenever I switch to anything that is antiaging, for older women, I get a horrible outbreak of acne which people normally outgrow after their teens. My mom switched from Clinique to Clarins which is gentler, recently, in her sixties, though she doesn't look anywhere near her age. DisastersThe list of disastrous combinations is a lot longer than this. Here are the ones that I remember best. Revlon Moon dropsThat was recommended by a friend for its anti-aging properties. I used the cleansing lotion and toner from that range and ended up with a horrible break out that needed the doctor's help to clear. Funny thing is that it worked fine for my friend. Probably works for girls with less problematic skin. LancomeSome women I know with great skin swear by Lancome. But it is a nightmare for me. I used Lancome galatee confort and Lancome Tonique Confort. I brought that with me when I went travelling and had no access to other skin care while away. That combination clogged my pores. I ended up with huge pimples. Each use worsened the condition. When I got home, the first thing I did was to switch to some thing that works for me. That nightmare took ages to clear. Other disastersI can't seem to take facials at some salons. Usually end up with pimples that clear only when I stop going to those salons for facials. The problem is worst when they give me a facial massage. That almost always triggers off a pimple breakout. ChocolatesOk. I know there is no proof of that. But when I eat more chocolates, my pimples start popping up again. Does that happen to you too?
