Mud masks tried and tested on oily acne prone skin
Mud on your face sounds yucky, but that is one of the best
things you could do for oily, acne prone skin. Not the mud from your garden but
kaolin, green clay, fuller's earth, sea clay and deep sea mud.
Applied twice a week, it helps 'spring clean' oily skin.
Kaolin
Kaolin
is a fine white powder is used in all types of cosmetic
products. It is very often found in masks and is suitable for all skin types. It
is astringent and mops up excess oil. It is very easy to make a kaolin based mud
mask. A tablespoon of a suitable herb tea for your skin type, mixed with enough
kaolin to thicken into a soft paste makes a simple and refreshing mask. No
dramatic effect on pimples though.

Green Clay
I used Green Clay Powder
with honey and lavender oil to make a simple mask.
It feels just like kaolin and the effect on my skin is the same as using kaolin
on my skin. No dramatic effect on pimples either.
Dead Sea Mud
This black stuff can be found in products from Israel. Very
effective. I bought a mask containing dead sea mud. Washed my face, applied a
thick layer and allowed it to dry. When I washed it off, my skin was visibly
smoother and clearer. A huge zit on my forehead shrank to half its size.
Dramatic effect on pimples. I would definitely splurge on this one.
