Home made face scrubs
Off with the old. On to the new.
Scrubs and exfoliating products do just that. They remove old, dead skin
cells, to reveal the new radiant skin below.
Scrubs have gritty bits in them to rub off the old dead skin. You can make
your own face scrubs and body scrubs in the kitchen.
Rose Almond Face Scrub
This facial scrub does contain a little almond oil (from the almonds) that
nourishes your skin while it exfoliates.
What you need
 | 1 teaspoon rosewater |
| 1/2 teaspoon almond flour or finely ground almonds. |
Usage
| Mix the rosewater and almonds to make the rose almond face scrub. |
| Wash your face with your usual cleanser. |
| Gently massage the rose almond scrub onto your face, avoiding eyes and
lips. |
| Rinse off with lots of water. |
Leaves skin nourished.
Honey Sugar Scrub
This facial scrub hydrates and exfoliates. It doubles up as a cleansing mask.
What you need
| 1 teaspoon of honey (no ants please) |
| 1/2 teaspoon of sugar (no ants in these either) |
Usage
| Wash your face |
| Mix the honey and sugar well and apply it on your face. Avoid your eyes. |
| Leave the honey and sugar facial scrub on your skin for 5 minutes. |
| Rinse it off with lots of water, gently rubbing it off with your fingers. |
Leaves skin really clean.
Salt and oil aromatic body scrub
This is a standard scrub for removing old dead skin cells and nourishing your
skin. Too harsh for the face, but just right for the body.
First, choose your essential oil.
| If it is that time of the month, go for 
Chamomile Oil, Pure Essential Oil 1 oz, NOW Foods |
| If you are stressed, try 
Essential Oil Lavender (lavendula augustifolia) .5 fl oz from Aura Cacia . I always have a 90ml bottle of lavender at home for first aid, skin care, stress relief... |
| If you want something cheerful, try 
Grapefruit Oil, Pure Essential Oil 1 oz, NOW Foods |
| If you want something feminine and romantic, try the queen of the oils, 
Jurlique - Rose Pure Essential Oil - 1ml/0.035oz |
| If you like rose but can't afford it, try 
Organic Essential Oil Geranium .33 oz from Aura Cacia which is often described as rose-like. Personally, I prefer rose and feel
that geranium does not even come close. |
Next you need to prepare your aromatic scrub.
| Pour 1/2 cup of carrier oil into a bowl. You could use sweet almond oil
|
| Next pour 1/2 cup of sea salt into the bowl and mix well. |
| Add 3 drops of your chosen oil. (If you chose rose oil, 1 drop is enough.
Rose oil is very strong. A little goes a long way.) |
| Mix well. |
Usage
| Shower or bathe as you normally do. |
| Rinse off your soap or shower gel |
| Apply the scrub all over your body, massaging as you apply. |
| Rinse off the scrub with lots of water. |
Leaves skin soft and smooth.
