Dead sea mud tried and tested

I bought a packet of dead sea mud to detoxify my skin.

My skin type is oily, tends to be dehydrated at times, very prone to acne breakouts.

Blackheads and pimples are a problem I face most of the time. Especially when stressed (which is all the time) and prior to my period.

The packaging was disappointing. I'm used to my masks being in tubes. At very least, this sort of packaging is usually zip locked, or in resealable packages.

This was just a pack of mud. Once you open it, you can't reseal the package. That takes some getting used too.

I didn't have any rubber bands with me, so after opening it, I used quite a lot of the dead sea mud on my face. I washed and patted dry my face first before applying the dead sea mud pack.

Then I simply folded over the package and kept it in my toiletries bag. I half expected the dead sea mud in the package to dry out quickly, but it has been 3 days and the moist dead sea mud still is exactly the same as it was when I first opened it.

(Note, you could always seal it with a rubber band. Me? I'm way too lazy even for that)

Other than the packaging, the actual mud is wonderful.

The mud is black when moist and dries to a chalky gray.

The first time I used it, I let it dry completely. I could feel it tightening, sort of felt like a mini face lift or something. It was as if the dead sea mud was sucking out all the dirt and oil clogs in my pores.

Once the mud was dry, I washed it off with a wash cloth and lots of water. My skin felt so clean after that. As if the dead sea mud and deep cleansed my skin. This is an excellent detox mask.

I used the dead sea mud pack again the next day. Didn't have the time to let it dry completely. I rinsed it off anyway and examined my normally blackhead, oil clogged nose. The pores on the sides of my nose had some white plugs coming off. I used a wash cloth and lots of water to wash those away too. It really works for black heads and oil clogs. This dead sea mud literally draws out these pores, purifying my skin.

Today, I used the dead sea mud mask again. For a third day in a row. Skin looks better after using it. In fact, each day I use this dead sea mud mask, my skin gets progressively better. Looks cleaner and clearer anyway. I'll continue using it everyday because I love the results.

You know what? I think I know why they package it this way. No wastage. Normal mud masks in tubes leave a lot behind which you cannot reach. Yeah, you can cut up the tube and scrape out what is left.

With this, I know that I can use every bit of the mud mask. And I intend to.
