Clinique clarifying lotion 2 Tried and tested on acne prone, sensitive skin

Clinique clarifying lotion 2 is meant for normal or combination skin that is oily in some areas and dry in other areas.

My skin is oily and acne prone. Yet sensitive at the same time. Because of its sensitivity, I would Clinique clarifying lotion 3 (for oily, acne prone skin) a miss. Because of my skin's pimples and oiliness, I'm not bothering with Clinique clarifying lotion 1 (for sensitive skin) either.

Ingredients

Clinique clarifying lotion 2 contains alcohol denat., water, witch hazel, glycerin, menthol, sodium borate, ext. d & c violet no.2, d& c red no. 33, d& c red no.6

What that means

	It contains alcohol which is drying. Doctors say that is ok, but naturopaths say it tricks the skin into producing more oil. I use the moisturiser after that anyway and am pleased with the results.
	It contains witch hazel which is great for oily skin.
	It contains glycerin which holds moisture to the skin.
	Menthol is from mint, which is great for oily skin.
	It also contains colouring and preservatives.

Usage

	I use it right after washing my face with clinique mild soap.
	Soak a cotton wool with Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 and wipe face and neck with it.
	The first time I used it, the cotton wool had a brownish yellow stain. That's the dead skin cells and dirt trapped on my skin which had not been properly cleaned prior to this.
	The first time I used it, it stung initially. Then my skin felt cool and refreshed. That must have been the menthol. Subsequently my skin just felt cool and clean.
	What got me hooked is seeing the dirt on the cotton wool after using the clarifying lotion. Also, the lotion is aptly named. My skin feels smoother and cleaner each time I use it. It seems to clarify my skin.

Verdict.

A good buy. One of the few products I would use regularly. That is, when I'm not tested new stuff for this web site.
