Classic rose perfumes
The rose has the arguably most beautiful perfume a woman could ever ask for.
Real rose essential oil
Having used real rose otto essential oil, nothing comes close. Even geranium
rose which is described as rose-like smells nowhere near real rose oil, to my
nose. As for palmarosa and the like, to describe them as rose-like is a real
insult to real rose oil.
Cheap imitations
Unfortunately, real rose oil is so expensive. The cheaper rose fragrances, or
cheaper rose perfume oils are fake or adulterated. Adulterated meaning
components of cheaper oils have been mixed with it to stretch it.
Classic rose like perfumes
Fortunately there are good perfumes around which smell almost as good as the
real thing. Not like the real thing, but good enough. Luxurious enough.
Beautiful enough.
Best of all these are more affordable. Two of my favourites are the classics,
Paris, by YSL and White Linen by Estee Lauder.
Paris by YSL
When you first spritz Paris on, the smell is rather strong, a little too
sweet, and a little artificial.
As the fragrance settles on your skin, it starts to blossom.
First, the sweet floral scent with traces of fruity notes.
It gets better as the hours go by.
By the end of the day, the smell that lingers is very similar to the final
lingering notes of real rose otto essential oil.
I love it! Perfect for living in.

White Linen
White Linen is a good classic perfume by Estee Lauder. It smells
sweeter than paris, but more crisp. Paris in comparison, smells more elegant.
White Linen is more an old world perfume. Classic, traditional, simple and
sweet. It ages well too. The bottle I have is used very sparingly and over a
decade old. It is a very sweet and feminine classic perfume.
The original was perfect for a grandma, but the latest version has a younger
touch to it, without losing its original classic beauty.
