Stress relief through your feet

After a hard day at work, or chasing after your kids, try this.

Ambience

For a full spa ambience, 

 Fill a basin with water.

Float some candles in the water.  Floating Lights: Floating Candles and More!

It makes a real difference. Try it.

 

Foot bath

Fill a basin with warm water. The basin should be large enough for you to fully immerse both feet in it comfortably.
Add 3 drops of lavender oil  and 2 drops of  geranium oil to the water.
Wash your feet with soap and water. 
Sit comfortably and soak your feet in the basin of fragrant water. Read a magazine or listen to music or just sit there and think of nothing. Just relax.
After 15 minutes or longer if you like, towel dry your feet.

Simple massage

Make a fist with your right hand.
Stroke the underside of your left foot from toes down with your fist for 5 minutes.
Do the same with your left hand and right foot.

According to the book Better Health with Foot Reflexology, The pink area roughly highlights the area that corresponds to diaphragm and the solar plexus.

I find that massaging that area with my thumb, in circular movements for at least a minute or 2 helps me relax enough to sleep.

Find that area on both your feet. 
Start with your left feet.
 Massage across the highlighted area. 
Then, hold the center of the highlighted area firmly and breathe deeply.
 Do the same for your right foot.

Finish off your foot spa by applying some foot lotion or body moisturizer on your feet.
