Stretch Marks
Preventing stretch marks when you are pregnant need not involve the use of
expensive creams.
All you need to do is to make sure you have sufficient vitamin C, not put on
excessive weight (10 to 15 kg would be just right) and use olive oil over your
belly and thighs after every bath.
Taking vitamin C supplements helps maintain your skin's elasticity. Fruit
like oranges and lemons contain lots of vitamin C so try to get plenty of those.
After every bath, apply some good quality cold pressed olive oil over your
belly and thighs (you can get that easily from supermarkets). If you can't stand
the smell of olive oil, a 99.7% (or higher) pure organic aloe Vera gel applied
over your belly and thighs work really well too (if you don't mind the price).
If you have an aloe Vera plant, the juice from the leaf can be used too. Be
careful though. The yellowish liquid near the surface of the leaf (aloin) can
really irritate your skin, so avoid that.
Eat well but don't over eat. Make sure you get plenty of nutritious fresh
food, fruit and vegetables. Don't eat too much junk food. More on motherhood
