Soaps for Eczema sufferers
Some eczema sufferers itch whenever they use regular soaps. The perfume
or other additives in the soap could be the culprit.
Here are some soaps that may be more suitable for people with eczema.
Dove soap
Dove
soap works well for 1 eczema sufferer with dry skin, but causes another
person to itch. Depends on the individual person.
Johnson's baby soap
Johnson's
baby soap is so gentle even babies use it. Unfortunately, the eczema sufferer who tried
it itched badly after that.
Simple shower gel
Recommended by some skin specialists as Simple products are supposed to
be free of the common components that may cause allergies.
Simple shower gel works well for an eczema sufferer.. except for the price. S$7.95 a
bottle which would last at most 2 weeks..
Had to use it for quite a while as all other soaps irritated his skin.
Simple soap
Works ok. Does not cause itching. Price is much better at less than S$3
a bar.
Polytar bar by Stiefel
Contains 1% polytar which is their blend of mineral and vegetable tars.
This works best for eczema initially. It appeared very effective initially,
but appeared to lose its effect subsequently after a while.
Polytar
cosmetics are excellent for anyone with eczema.
