Eczema
For dry eczema, the skin has itchy and dry patches.
Conventional treatment of this is with steroid creams to relieve the
itching. The flip side of this is that these creams can thin your skin.
This makes your skin bleed more easily when you scratch.
I am not a doctor. But some of my friends and some members family are
suffering from it. Here is how we deal with eczema naturally.
Eczema can be an
allergic reaction to something. First you have to try
to identify what is causing the eczema and avoid that substance in question.
It could be food you eat or something you come into contact with.
I'll name the people in question, Allure, Kathy, Tricia and Susie My son is
terribly fussy. He would not allow me to apply on him most creams with
good active ingredients eg. calendula,
chamomile or
aloe
vera. It doesn't
matter whether home made or purchased from pharmacies or even if they are
meant for babies. He just doesn't like them. When his skin itches, he only wants
baby
powder on his skin. Then I got a good quality
aloe vera based
Lotion. I meant to use it only for myself. But when my son started crying 'itchy, itchy'
again, I applied it on him as that was the only thing available. He liked it a
lot. Said it helped soothe the itch. I like it myself as it is so ---hydrating?
It really moisturizes without feeling oily. It is so moist. Well, I'm relieved.
At least now there is something that can help him (Aloe is great for skin
problems) which he would allow me to apply on him.

Allure's wedding ring.
Allure had a dry itchy patch all around her ring finger, directly under
her wedding ring.
She removed her ring, applied calendula balm which she made from calendula
oil and vegetable oil onto her finger. several times a day. She put on the
ring again after applying the balm. The condition cleared in days.
This works only if you are not allergic to oil or anything in the ointment.
You can purchase ready made calendula creams or ointments from health shops.
Just look at the list of ingredients to make sure you are not allergic
to anything in it.
A quick and easy way to make your own ointment is to melt 1 tablespoonful
of Vaseline gently with 2 teaspoons of calendula petals. Strain and keep
in a clean jar. (That is if you are not allergic to Vaseline).

Kathy's allergic to everything.
Kathy could not tolerate soap, detergents or anything used to wash herself,
her clothes or her home.
What she did was substitute all cleansers with sodium bicarbonate.
(Baking
Soda) She bathes with a solution of 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate
with a cup of water and washes that off with lots of water. She washes
her clothes by adding 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate and 3 drops of lemon
essential oil to a basin of water. She rinses her clothes thoroughly with
lots of water after that. She washes her dishes in a solution of sodium
bicarbonate, and rinses that with lots of water too. For cleaning her home,
1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate with a few drops of lemon or lavender
or orange essential oil in a pail of water is used to mop the floor and
clean her furniture.
Maybe that might work for you.

Tricia got rid of her eczema once and for
all.
Like Kathy, Tricia got rid of her eczema by using natural products for
herself and her home. She made these from recipes and natural ingredients
obtained from a natural products store
She uses a mixture of honey and
goldenseal (a herb you can get from
health stores) and applies it on the patches of eczema. Then she wraps
it up with a clean piece of cloth. She leaves that on overnight.

Itch relief
Take an oatmeal bath.
Oatmeal contains soothing substances that help relieve the itch on your
skin. Just place a handful of oatmeal in a cloth. Tie up the cloth to keep
the oatmeal in. Place it in a clean bathtub. Fill with warm water. Soak
in it. You can use the oatmeal bundle as a wash cloth to scrub yourself
clean.
Lavender healer
Apply pure lavender oil
(True lavender) over the eczema patches. Do this
nightly for a month if you want to see results.
Eczema is aggravated by stress. Lavender oil helps relieve stress,
which reduces the itch. On top of that, lavender is one of the healing,
skin regenerating oils in aromatherapy. If your skin is so thin it bleeds
easily because of overuse of steroid creams, after a month of lavender
oil, your skin should be better and not bleed so easily.
Don't use an essential oil continuously for more than a month. At best,
it could lose its effect on you. At worst, toxic substances in certain
oils which are normally harmless may accumulate and harm you.
Pure German Chamomile essential oil.
This is a very expensive remedy. Be sure you are using German chamomile
essential oil without any impurities. The impurities in some chamomile
oils can cause dermatitis. German Chamomile oil is reputed to be
the anti allergic oil in aromatherapy. According to Kurt Schnaubert, the
author of Advanced Aromatherapy, undiluted German Chamomile oil works well
when applied on allergic skin reactions. Example bad patches of eczema).
Personally, I would rather dilute it in a base that my skin can tolerate.
I have experienced an allergic reaction to Roman Chamomile oil and to Blue
Chamomile oil (German chamomile oil is sometimes sold as Blue chamomile
oil, but it could also have been a variety of Mugwort sold as Blue chamomile.)
The usual way is to dilute 1 drop of chamomile essential oil in 1 teaspoon
of cold pressed almond oil. Some eczema sufferers cannot tolerate oil.
If you can't, then find an unscented moisturising gel or cream your skin
can tolerate and add 1 drop of chamomile essential oil to 1 teaspoon of
it. Apply the mixture on the eczema patches. Roman Chamomile essential oil
an also be used in place of German Chamomile essential oil.
Help for eczema
If sleeping on your bed makes your skin itch, you
might want to use allergen
protectors for your mattress, comforter and bedding
to protect your skin from the allergens.
If the itch is killing you you could use a Hydrocortisone
cream to stop the itch.

I found these eczema testimonies at the website www.lighthouse.org.sg
Eczema & sinusitis about a 14 year old boy with eczema and sinusitis since young.
Chronic eczema about a 15 year old boy with chronic eczema.
There is an interesting ebook at that website that talks about supernatural
healing for more than just eczema alone.
