Acne
Acne/pimples are caused by bacteria. Acne is common in oily skin.
For acne, the pores get clogged with oil, dead skin cells and dirt. Bacteria
grows in the clogged pores, infecting the pores, leading to acne/pimples and
blackheads. New! Acne

When it comes to acne rosacea, seek help. Go to your doctor to get medication to control it. I was reading a story about a woman with acne rosacea. She went to doctors, skin specialists and beauticians. There was no cure. She had to be on medication for rosacea for life. She's cured now. Her story can be found at rosacea, from the website www.lighthouse.org.sg.It is related to an interesting ebook that talks about supernatural
healing found at that site.
Effective pimple treatments
Wash your face with a good acne
cleanser. These act to gently cleanse and exfoliate acne prone skin and help
clear the pores, preventing acne from starting.
Apply trioxil

bacteria and soothes your skin at the same time.
Prevent and heal acne with a good acne
serum.
Avoid acne breakouts and get clear pores with this powerful serum. A proven
formula that unclogs pores by breaking the bonds between dead skin cells to
promote proper exfoliation. Plus, it's enriched with essential vitamins and
antioxidants to help renew skin that has been damaged by past breakouts.

Acne/pimples treatment tried and tested
Antibiotics
The most effective means to clear acne is to see a doctor. He would probably
give you a course of antibiotics. That clears acne really quickly. Alternatively,
an alcohol based lotion containing antibiotics also works very well on
clearing acne. The catch is that, for my case, the acne kept returning.
Retin A
A doctor put me on Retin
A.
This takes a long time to work. But when it does, skin remains clear
for a long time too.
What happens is that you are given Retin A cream to apply on your skin
twice daily.
During the period of treatment, you would have to avoid the sun as
your skin would be more sensitive to the sun.
Initially your skin will get worse as the blemishes hidden in the deeper
layers of the skin surface. After the first few weeks or months, the skin
starts to clear.
This treatment is great if you can persevere and tolerate the initial
period when your acne really worsens.
Aromatherapy
Tea tree oil is reputed to be good for pimples and boils. It worked well
for boils but the pimples still take a long time to subside. By the time
a pimple has subsided, new ones have appeared. I would rate its effect
on acne as mild
Lavender is even milder. A daily facial steam using lavender oil, petitgrain
and chamomile oil (1 drop of each) is recommended by some aromatherapy
books. But works really slowly, if at all.
Benzoyl Peroxide
Most pimple creams in pharmacies contain Benzoyl
peroxide.
Unfortunately many people (myself included) are allergic to Benzoyl peroxide.
Basically, Benzoyl peroxide works by forcing more oxygen into the
pore, making it an unsuitable habitat for the bacteria. As the bacteria
diminishes, your skin clears.
Aloe vera gel
An organic >99.5% pure aloe vera gel is great for acne prevention.
To use, apply as a moisturizer on acne prone skin, after washing your
face with a cleanser or soap and water.
It takes a long time (up to 6 months) to clear the skin though. But
it is good for the skin in the long term.
Aloe Vera Gel To fade the scars
There are a number of products you could use to
fade those acne scars away. Here are some meant specially for
those acne
scars you'd want to get rid of.
Triclosan
A doctor once treated my acne with a cleanser she made herself containing Triclosan. She suggested I use cleansers with Triclosan if I had no time to get
the cleanser from her.
Payot Mousse Purifiante anti-bacterial cleansing gel contains triclosan.
Payot Creme Purifiante is a cream for oily, problem skin that also contains
Triclosan.
You might also want to try the entire range for oily
acne/pimple prone at

Skin care tried and tested on acne prone and sensitive skin
I tried various skin care products on my skin. Some meant for oily skin
proved too harsh for my skin. Instead of acne/pimples, I ended up with red, sore skin, more fine lines
and wrinkles, a bad rash or flaky dry skin. Cleansers
Basically, creamy cleansers cause
my skin to break out in pimples. Clinique soap, (the mild bar soap) was good. So
were a number of rinse off cleansing foams. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Tried and Tested
Cetaphil is often recommended by dermatologists for cleansing sensitive
skin. You can get it at SkinStore, Inc

sensitive skin. Clarins Purifying Facial Mask Tried and Tested

Moisturisers
As for moisturisers, the water based gels or translucent moisturisers
were better tolerated than the creams and lotions. Usually, less is more. I only
use moisturisers occasionally and when absolutely necessary.
A good example is Stendhal Bio-Confort Plus Moisture Source Gel
which I Tried and Tested on my acne prone skin.
Foundation
I avoid this like plague. With the exception of Chanel Double Perfection Fluide
which I Tried and tested successfully on my oily sensitive skin, most other
foundations give me acne/pimples. Acne/pimple Control
Basically, to handle oily sensitive skin prone
to acne/pimples,
-
cleanse thoroughly with antibacterial
products for acne/pimples,
-
tone
-
and moisturize with the lightest (oil free
if possible) lotions available.
-
Then apply a acne/pimple treatment to the
pimples.
