Influenza,
or flu, is caused by a virus. The flu virus keeps changing. There are so
many |
|
strains
of flu viruses with new ones developing every now and then. As such, no
one |
|
can
really be immune to it. This accounts for the flu outbreaks every now and
then. |
|
When
you get the first signs of flu, be it a sore throat or fever, or just beginning
to feel |
|
unwell,
you may still be able to fight it off and prevent in from progressing if
you take |
|
The
most important thing is to rest as much as possible, and drink plenty of
fluids. |
|
Stay
in bed as much as possible. Drink as much water as possible |
|
Take
vitamin C supplements. Echinacea drops taken as directed by manufacturer and
lots of garlic helps too. |
|
Boil
some chicken soup with vegetables (Corn, carrot, onions and potatoes) drink
the |
|
soup
and eat the vegetables during meals. |
|

Use
a steam inhalation to prevent the flu from setting in. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS
IF |
|
YOU
HAVE ASTHMA. THE STEAM MAY TRIGGER AN ASTHMA ATTACK. Pour |

boiling
water into a basin. Add 2 drops of eucalyptus oil to it. Put a towel over
your |
|
head,
hold your face 20 cm above the basin. Inhale the steam for as long as you
can |
|
Do
not use eucalyptus oil for more than 5 days at a time. You can use 1 drop
of tea |
|
tree
oil and 1 drop of lavender oil instead of eucalyptus oil. |
