Mandarin Oil

(Citrus Reticula, Citrus nobilus, citrus madurensis)

Mandarin essential oil is extracted from the peel of mandarin oranges. Those very same oranges we exchange during Chinese New Year. The oil is mild and smells just like the oranges themselves. Sweet and fruity. It is a children's oil. It is used in France as a remedy for children's tummy upsets.

Properties

The oil contains anthranilic acid, a sedative. As such, it is good for stressed out kids.

Uses

It makes a great bath oil for a stressed out kid. It is my toddler's favourite. To use in a bath for a toddler, dilute 1 to 2 drops of mandarin oil in 1 teaspoon of Soya oil and add it to the bath water.
For indigestion or other stomach upsets, mix 2 drops of the essential oil in 1  teaspoon of Soya oil and rub over the tummy area in a clockwise direction.
