Treat your kid for eczema

The family trip

Out with the kids? Having some children's oils on hand can come in handy. chamomile essential oil and lavender oil are the most useful oils for kids. These are among the safest oils in aromatherapy.  Tea Tree Oil is useful too. Don't forget some Aloe Vera. Aloe vera's great to soothe and heal sunburns. Of course prevention is better than cure. Always remember to put on sun block if you are going out in the sun. Bring lots of tissue paper along too.

Travel sickness

For travel sickness, a drop of lavender oil on a tissue for the child to inhale can ease the travel sickness.  Peppermint can be used on a tissue paper if an older child suffers from nausea.

Fretful and tired child

If your kid is really so tired yet unable to sleep, try a little lavender oil. a drop of lavender oil on a tissue for the child to inhale can help the child relax enough to sleep. For babies, apply lavender oil on yourself, your neck and shoulders. Then carry the baby so that he can smell the lavender and be soothed to sleep.

Stomach upsets or colic

1 drop of chamomile oil mixed in 1 teaspoon of sweet almond oil massaged clockwise on the tummy helps ease a little kid's stomach ache.

Insect bites

lavender oil applied on the bite can soothe the itch. A little lavender oil added to your body lotion and applied to the body helps keep the insects away.

Cuts and bruises

Use calendula oil for this. Add 1 drop of lavender oil and 1 drop of chamomile oil to make an excellent oil for bumps and bruises. Disinfect minor cuts with tea tree oil added to water to wash the cut. If the cut is deep, seek medical attention.

Sunburns

Aloe Vera or lavender oil added to the burn will soothe the pain and help you recover faster.
