How to use essential oils

I have been using essential oils for years already. I find them invaluable for first aid, stress, flu, cramps, baby's colic and a myriad of other uses.

The oils most valuable to a woman are

Rose oil is the queen of the oils.

Rose oil cheers a woman during depression or when she feels unloved. It makes her feel pampered.

Rose oil is also said to be an aphrodisiac. It is classified as a  feminine oil.

Rose oil can be used to relieve the stress, depression

In the old days, rose oil was used to help a person fight off viral attacks.

Rose oil is great for skin care. It is gentle for the skin. Suitable for mature skin, sensitive skin, dry skin, normal skin. In fact, I use it on my oily, acne prone, sensitive skin and I love it.

Caution: Do not use rose oil during pregnancy

Rose oil self massage for tense shoulders and back.

Chamomile essential oil is for mothers and babies

Chamomile oil is a soothing, gentle oil suitable for babies. Chamomile oil is also a woman's oil. Especially during that time of the month.

Chamomile relieves period cramps when diluted and applied in clockwise directions on the abdomen

Chamomile relieves baby's colic when diluted (1 drop of oil to 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil and applied in clockwise directions on the abdomen.

Chamomile soothes a baby and helps baby sleep better. Put 1 drop of chamomile oil in the baby bath.

Chamomile oil helps relieve the depression and irritability during PMS.

Lavender oil is the most versatile of the oils

Lavender is one of the exceptions as it can be used undiluted on the skin in emergencies.

Lavender oil applied undiluted, directly on a very mild burn immediately, helps the skin heal much more quickly and with less scarring (If any). You still must seek help for  burns.

Lavender oil applied into a cut helps ease the pain and helps the skin heal faster.

Lavender oil applied on knocks and bumps ease pain and helps healing with minimal bruising. (If any)

Lavender oil combined with eucalyptus oil, or lavender oil combined with tea tree oil can help a person fight off a viral infection. Use diluted in a bath, or diluted in a body lotion. Diffuse in the room. I use that for my kids when they are sick.

Lavender oil is great for insomnia. If you are too stressed, add a few drops of lavender oil to your bath. Add a drop to of lavender oil to your body lotion before applying it. Add a drop to your pillow. That will help you sleep. A more sedative mix would be 2 drops lavender oil, 1 drop geranium oil in 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil used to massage your body and the soles of your feet.

Lavender oil is excellent for normal skin, mature skin, combination skin, pimply skin and oily skin. Check out lavender for beauty care

The list of uses for lavender oil is longer than I have space for in this article. Read

Tea Tree Oil the antiseptic antifungal antiviral oil

Sceptics would think that one oil cannot possibly be anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal. But Tea tree oil has been used effectively for all these purposes. In fact, it is accepted as a form of first aid, sold in pharmacies together with the first aid supplies.

Tea Tree oil is anti-viral. It boosts a person's immunity against viruses. Mixed with lavender oil, it is said to be even more effective than the traditional lavender oil eucalyptus oil combination to help a person fight off a viral infection.

Tea Tree oil is used to treat boils. Apply undiluted 3 times daily to the boil to kill off the bacteria that causes the boil

Tea Tree oil for first aid. Disperse a few drops of tea tree oil in some clean water and use it to wash the wound.

I apply sometimes undiluted tea tree oil in disinfect cuts on my skin. But some people cannot use tea tree oil undiluted on their skin as it can irritate their skin very badly.
