I started this website years ago when I was exploring aromatherapy and trying to make my own beauty products. I was inspired by stories of pioneers like Estee Lauder and other such brave women who started cosmetics companies using their own beauty recipes.

After a lot of experiments in the kitchen, I came up with some recipes that worked for me. Looking through all the legal stuff and licenses needed these days to do such a business, I decided against it and started this site instead.

Back then, my kids were very small and had a problem with eczema. I would rather look for natural remedies using herbs or natural skin care products, turning to the prescribed drugs only as the last resort. For cuts and bruises, I even developed a first aid cream for them. It was basically calendula cream with a few drops of lavender oil and tea tree oil (1 drop of each for every 10 ml of cream) and worked well for the knocks and bruises kids face.

This site was initially meant to be a personal library of my findings. Where I keep my recipes. Over time, it became a public website where I share what I learnt with anyone who might be interested.

Lately, I've been chasing sales and deals. I am on a tight budget and look out for ways to save money. I've saved quite a bit using coupons, or purchasing during sales for discounts. Shopping online incurs shipping costs, so I look out for free shipping deals as well. Free gifts with purchase lets me get more treats, gifts or necessities without paying for them. I started a discount shopping blog to share with you the best deals online that I know of.

Besides serious reference stuff, I feature things that are of interest to women in general. Stuff that makes life more interesting. Found this site on Women's Libido that contains information that would be very useful for newlyweds or those whose marriages could use a little help.

Home Made Beauty Treats

We have a section of facials that teach you to do your own facial based on your skin type. There are the gentler, hydrating facials for dry skin, deep cleansing oil free facials for oily skin and for regular facials for normal skin. Here are some for dehydrated skin as well.

Natural Health

I went through a phase when I wanted to study natural medicine. Even checked up on the courses available in order to be a qualified physician. Couldn't afford the fees nor the time for it.

I was disappointed, but a elderly physician advised me to study on my own. I bought textbooks on aromatherapy and various books on herbal medicine to study. That interest eventually fizzled out, but I recorded some of the things I learnt in this site. The home remedies section and the health section cover the things I learnt.
